A payment gateway for lawful high-risk businesses
A checkout link can be simpler than a custom integration, but it does not override the rules of the payment operator that handles the customer.
Paytero creates one-time payment requests and a branded page that shows the customer the amount and available route. A separate payment operator processes the final payment. Successful settlement is directed to the merchant's own eligible wallet, normally as USDC on Polygon in this link flow. Paytero does not guarantee that every industry, country, or transaction will be accepted.
Hosted payment handoff
The customer begins on a Paytero request page, then continues to an eligible operator. Card or local payment details are entered with that operator, not with Paytero.
Rules still apply
Operators may assess business activity, customer location, transaction size, prohibited categories, fraud signals, and identity requirements before completing payment.
Wallet settlement
The merchant supplies a self-custodial payout address compatible with the stated asset and network. It must be different from Paytero's affiliate commission address.
What “high-risk” does—and does not—mean
Some lawful online businesses have higher dispute rates, unusual delivery models, international buyers, or product categories that traditional processors treat as higher risk. A higher-risk label does not itself mean the business is prohibited. Equally, a payment link is not a way to bypass a provider's restrictions. The selected operator can decline a customer or a transaction even when its route appears active.
Paytero is best treated as checkout and settlement software, not as a promise of a merchant account, instant approval, zero holds, or acceptance of unlawful goods or services.
Before you publish a payment link
- Describe the real sale. Make the product or service, fulfillment timing, refund terms, and support contact clear to the customer.
- Check the route. An active provider listing is only a starting point; region, amount, currency, and customer checks can narrow the available options.
- Show the full cost. Paytero shows its fee and the customer total before the link is made. Operator conversion or network charges may also apply.
- Use a valid settlement wallet. Confirm ownership, network, and token support before collecting a payment.
- Wait for confirmation. Do not fulfill solely because a customer reached the checkout or returned to your site; use a confirmed payment status.
Common questions
Does Paytero approve every high-risk category? No. Each operator applies its own rules and may reject a business, product, buyer, or payment.
Do I need a Paytero account? A quick payment link can be created without one. Registering adds saved titles, descriptions, and searchable history. See the link generator guide.
